Let It Be Done

I was going through iPhoto and I found videos from the March For Life last year. I completely forgot about the song that Matt Maher sang during Communion (or maybe it was another part of Mass). Reflecting on what I read in Imitation of Mary today and then hearing this song, it just affirmed how faithful God is… despite our doubts, despite our unworthiness. I mean, I know this. You know this. But… there is just something so refreshing and new about our Lord, that regardless of what we know, it’s like learning all over again. (Can I get an Amen?!?! haha)

“Jesus answered Mary in a way that gave no grounds for hope, yet she did not cease to hope, and she therefore obtained what she wanted. Rarely shall we pray with perseverance and not be heard. Importunity displeases men and wearies them, but if you do not grow weary of praying to the Lord, He will not grow weary of hearing you. No matter how fervent your prayer is, God seems to say to you, as He did to Mary, ‘your hour has not yet come.’ (Jn. 2-4). But if your confidence is truly unshakeable, God will finally grant your request. We only make ourselves unworthy of the Divine generosity when we decide to put a time limit He must meet. It is true, of course, that despite our repeated prayer God sometimes does not give us what we ask of Him. But in such instances He gives us something we need far more than what we asked.”

We are not called to understand. We are not called to be in the spotlight. We are not called to be the most popular. We are not called to be the most beautiful nor the most talented. But that’s not what God wants. The ONLY thing, the absolutely only thing, that we are called to do, is to give our yes. With our yes, we give our hearts. We give our lives. We give up our dreams. We give up what we want…. all for the sake of what He wants. And CRAZY enough, if we continue to pray for what we want, and there is nothing better that the Lord wants for us, God grants our prayer. How faithful is our God. How GREAT is our Lord. Man… ! hehe

Lord, I love You. I adore You. You are so beautiful that all the words in the world cannot describe just how beautiful You are. You are so good, Lord, SO good. Thank You for being so faithful, to me, to my sisters, to my loved ones. Thank You for answered prayers. Thank You for calling me to be Your servant. I give my YES, Lord. All I want is to make You happy.

Whatever You want from me, whatever You wish me to do…

I will let it be.  Let it be done unto me.

(Matt Maher sings it better, in my personal opinion. But he didn’t record the song. Boo)

When she heard the voice of God
calling her to be
the instrument He needed
to bring our world the King of Kings,
she could not understand
the wisdom of God’s plan, but still she answered:
“Let it be. Let it be done unto me.”

When he heard the voice of God
calling him to stand
and take the virgin as his wife
and teach her child to be a man,
he could not understand
the wisdom of God’s plan, but still he answered:
“Let it be. Let it be done unto me.”

And they said, “Yes, Lord, we’re ready to receive.
Yes, Lord, we’re ready to believe.
Let it be. Let it be done unto me.”

If I hear the voice of God
calling out my name,
Lord, I pray You’ll give me faith
to answer You in anything.
And i may not understand
the wisdom of Your plan, but I will answer,
“Let it be. Let it be done unto me.”

Yes, Lord, I’m ready to receive.
Yes, Lord, I’m ready to believe.
Let it be. Let it be done unto me.

It’s crazy how people see things that we ourselves cannot see or admit or acknowledge, for that matter. As much as we have a grasp on something or a situation, there are still things about it that we never realize. And I am VERY thankful for that. It’s good to see different points of views, to understand from all perspectives. I know I’m being quite vague, but this can be applied to anything and anyone. We tend to analyze something so much that we fail to see a lot of things about it. That’s why seeking wise counsel is so important! So people can help you pray and discern what to do, and how to go about it.

I will leave you with an excerpt from the Imitation of Mary:

“If you love God, generosity should be the main proof of your love. A heart that is mean and niggardly does not know what it means to love. If you are unwilling to do anything difficult for God, if you lose heart at the sight of difficulties to be surmounted, can you be said to love? True love proves itself in pain and conflict. Inability to suffer is incompatible with the outlook and practice of an authentic follower of Jesus.”

Hellooo 2009! This year has been crazy… most especially the last month. God has been continuing to affirm me in so many ways. And I am utterly grateful.

For New Year’s I met up my dear brothers and sisters in SFC for lunch at this sister’s apartment. Then we watched a few movies. Afterwards, we went to Holy Hour for adoration and then Midnight Mass.

I rang in the new year with the Blessed Sacrament and Holy Mass. To most people, that probably sounds lame. But this was my most favorite New Year’s celebration yet. Praying to my God right before my eyes, reflecting on the past year, looking forward to the next year… maaann! I can’t explain the extreme peace and love and joy I felt in every part of my body. To know that you are where you are supposed to be, where God wants you to be, is such an amazing blessing.

I’m waiting on the Lord and for the next chapter in my life He is preparing me for. Until then… I am going to fill myself with as much Jesus as possible. I am going to try to be the servant I need to be and more. I will do as much as I can to be used in and every way He wants to use me. I will do my best to stay grounded in my faith and in the Holy Spirit because whatever and wherever He’s going to bring me to… I am definitely going to need it.

I specifically chose “You’ll Come” because it epitomizes how I look at my life right now. I’m waiting. I won’t be shaken or moved. I’m being healed. My eyes (and my heart) are open. And Christ is revealing Himself. I pray this year we all seek what the Lord truly wants for each and every one of us. May 2009 be the best year yet!

You’ll Come by Hillsong

I have decided
I have resolved
To wait upon You Lord
My rock and Redeemer
Shield and reward
I’ll wait upon You Lord

As surely as the sun will rise
You’ll come to us
Certain as the dawn appears

You’ll come
Let Your glory fall as You respond to us
Spirit rain
Flood into our thirsty hearts again
You’ll come
You’ll come

We are not shaken
We are not moved
We wait upon You Lord
Mighty deliverer
Triumph and truth
We wait upon You Lord

As surely as the sun will rise
You’ll come to us
Certain as Your word endures

You’ll come
Let Your glory fall as You respond to us
Spirit rain
Flood into our thirsty hearts again
You’ll come
You’ll come

Chains be broken
Lives be healed
Eyes be opened
Christ is revealed
